This year’s SCAD Film Festival in Savannah, GA. will feature a special TV element, thanks to a new partnership with Deadline.

The inaugural TV Sidebar, set for Nov. 1-2, will feature screenings of the Disney+ limited series Agatha All Along from Marvel TV, HBO’s Somebody Somewhere , and Amazon Prime Video’s Cruel Intentions . Deadline’s senior TV writer Lynette Rice will moderate Q&As with participants at each event.
“We are thrilled to partner with Deadline for the inaugural TV Sidebar at this year’s SCAD Savannah Film Festival,” said Christina Routhier, executive director of the SCAD Savannah Film Festival that runs from Oct. 26-Nov. 2. “This is a unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on some of the exciting new television content premiering this fall. Television plays a pivotal role in the SCAD curriculum, with many of our students and alumni building successful careers in the industry. We’re honored to celebrate and support their contributions to this ever-evolving medium.”
On Nov. 1, the festival will screen episodes from the third and final season of the Peabody Award-winning Somebody Somewhere . Starring, written, and executive produced by Bridget Everett, the series follows Sam (Everett) on her journey to discover herself back in her Kansas hometown. A Q&A with Everett, co-creators and executive producers Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen, and actors Jeff Hiller and Mary Catherine Garrison will follow the screening.
On Nov. 2, Kathryn Hahn will receive the Spotlight Award and participate in a Q&A after a screening of Marvel’s Agatha All Along . In the series, Hahn revives her character that she originated in Marvel’s WandaVision , also for the streamer. The series premiered Sept. 18 and also stars Aubrey Plaza.
Also on Nov. 2, the festival will screen an episode of the new Cruel Intentions , an updated take on the cult 1999 movie that’s set to premiere in November on Prime. It takes place at an elite Washington, D.C. college, where two ruthless step-siblings, Caroline Merteuil (Sarah Catherine Hook) and Lucien Belmont (Zac Burgess), will do anything to stay on top of the cutthroat social hierarchy. After a brutal hazing incident threatens the entire Greek Life system at their school, they’ll do whatever is necessary to preserve their power and reputation, even if that means seducing Annie Grover (Savannah Lee Smith), the daughter of the Vice President of the United States. A Q&A with the cast will follow the screening.

Presented by the Savannah College of Art and Design, the SCAD Savannah Film Festival is filled with cinematic creativity from award-winning professionals and emerging student filmmakers. Each year, more than 63,000 people attend the eight-day festival.
