Chris Hemsworth made a surprise appearance at Ed Sheeran ‘s concert held at The National Arena in Bucharest, Romania, learning to play the drums in front of an audience of 70,000 fans. The Marvel actor joined his Grammy-winning friend on Aug. 24 to perform the smash hit song “Thinking Out Loud” as part of filming for the upcoming second season of the Disney+ Original and National Geographic series Limitless With Chris Hemsworth , due in 2025.

Hemsworth’s appearance took place during Sheeran’s latest worldwide tour, the +–=÷x tour. The actor learned to play the drums from scratch in what was described as a “brain-boosting challenge” to be showcased in the series.

From executive producer Darren Aronofsky, Limitless follows Hemsworth as he journeys across the world to uncover the path to living better for longer. Season 1, which premiered in 2022, followed the star across six episodes as he consulted experts and scientists on challenges that tested the “mind and body to the max,” per the show’s logline.

In the new season, the Furiosa actor will once again physically and mentally exert himself by exploring universal topics and issues like “pain, fear, cognitive impairment and social connection,” according to Disney+. He will be guided by expert advice from mentors and spiritual leaders, as well as the latest scientific inquiries.

Tom Watt-Smith and Jane Root serve as executive producers on Limitless Season 2, with Arif Nurmohamed serving as co-executive producer for Nutopia.
