TLC Cancels Shows: T-Boz Hospitalized With “Severe Abdominal Blockage”

TLC was forced to cancel upcoming performances after T-Boz experienced “severe abdominal blockage.”

Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins suffered a medical emergency ahead of the group’s August 23 performance at the New York State Fair.

“Shortly after arriving in Syracuse, Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins experienced sudden and severe nausea, vomiting, and intense abdominal cramps,” read a statement from TLC . “She was immediately seen by a doctor and subsequently taken to the hospital for further evaluation.”

Diagnosed with “a severe abdominal blockage,” the group, which is also composed of Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, had to cancel their shows in Syracuse and Foxwoods.

“The doctor verified that this was not food poisoning, but an abdominal blockage,” the statement continued. “Tionne deeply regrets having to cancel these shows and extends her sincere apologies to all her fans and the event promoters. The decision to cancel was made under the advisement of her physician, who required her to stay in the hospital overnight to undergo a CT scan to assess the severity of her condition.”

The group apologized to fans that had made arrangement to see the duo perform and appreciated their support amid the medical emergency.

T-Boz shared a health update on August 24, saying, “I’m on The Mend!!! This Was Just One Of Those Unexpected Things That I Had No Control Over! I Look Forward To Making It Up 2 You All… And Hopefully I’ll Get Out Of The Hospital Soon!!! As Soon As Tomorrow If All Goes Well!!! Thank You For Understanding…”

TLC’s next scheduled appearance is on Saturday, August 31, at Ravinia in Highland Park, Illinois. The group is also expected to perform on Sunday, September 1, at Treasure Island Casino in Welch, Minnesota.
