The project is one of the hottest YA/crossover packages in the market at the moment given the elements, starting with Hoover, whose recent adaptation It Ends With Us has been a box office breakout starring Blake Lively.
As recently revealed, the film will star Allison Williams ( M3GAN ) as Morgan, Mckenna Grace ( Ghostbusters ) as Clara, Dave Franco ( Now You See Me ) as Jonah and Mason Thames ( How To Train Your Dragon ) as Miller. Principal photography is being scheduled for March 2025.
Josh Boone ( The Fault In Our Stars ) is directing from a script by Susan McMartin ( After ). Producing are Robert Kulzer ( Resident Evil ) for Constantin Film, Brunson Green ( The Help ), author Anna Todd and Flavia Viotti.
WME Independent is handling the US and north.five.six is handling international sales. Michael Rothstein and Sam Hall of north.five.six. will serve as executive producers along with Oliver Berben of Constantin Film and Emily Magee.
Pic centers on the complex relationship between Morgan Grant (Williams) and her daughter, Clara (Grace). Morgan became a mother at a young age, putting her own dreams on hold to raise Clara. As Clara grows into a teenager, their relationship becomes strained, especially after a tragic accident.

A cultural phenomenon with more than two billion views of her books on TikTok, Hoover is the bestselling author with more than 50 million books sold. It Ends with Us , published in 43 languages, was the bestselling book of 2022 and spent 90 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.
“When I read Regretting You I was captivated by the characters and knew we needed a partnership with an amazing cast to make it real,” said Boone. “I’m thrilled to be joined by old friends and new to bring Colleen Hoover’s novel to the screen. I’ve been working for several years with the incredible team at Constantin, and my producers Brunson, Anna, and Flavia, and our plan is to make a classic that mothers and daughters will cherish for years to come.”
The film is a production of Constantin Film with Brunson Green (Harbinger Pictures), Flavia Viotti (FVR Entertainment) and Anna Todd (Frayed Pages Media) serving as producers and Nancy Nayor as casting director.
