    Lupita Nyong’o Remembers Chadwick Boseman Four Years After His Death: “Grief Never Ends”

    Lupita Nyong’o paid tribute to her late Black Panther co-star Chadwick Boseman on the fourth anniversary of his death.

    In a touching social media post, the A Quiet Place: Day One star remembered Boseman and dedicated heartfelt words to his memory.

    “Grief never ends. But it changes. It is a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It’s the price of love,” Nyong’o posted on Instagram , quoting an unknown author. “Remembering Chadwick Boseman. Forever.”

    Nyong’o accompanied the post with a black and white photo of Boseman and a picture of them together smiling.

    While promoting A Quiet Place: Day One , Nyong’o revealed that Boseman was in her thoughts throughout filming. In the film, Nyong’o played a poet with terminal cancer fighting for her life against a backdrop of an alien invasion.

    “That was daunting to have to go there, psychologically and emotionally,” Nyong’o told People about playing a character who “is really facing their mortality, even before this apocalypse takes place, and whose life is slipping between her fingers.”

    Boseman died of colon cancer in 2020, which Nyong’o said in the same interview that it “shook me to my core.”
