EXCLUSIVE: Jason Paige voiced the theme tune to the Pokemon series in the 1990s and now he’s doing the same for an upcoming animated pre-school series.

Paige will work with TikTok star Sunglasses Kid to make the theme tune for comedy-adventure show Duncan’s Flying Tugboat , which is from toon producer CUDO. Sunglasses Kid specializes in 1980s-era synth-wave music, while Paige sung the English-language theme tune for Pokemon , and the series is set to pay homage to kids series from the ’80s and ’90s.

Duncan’s Flying Tugboat was first announced in 2021, but has now been reworked as a fresh iteration for the kids TV market. CUDO is working with Paw Patrol alum Scott Albert, who’s attached as writer, and Relish on the animation.

“We’re thrilled to bring these two musical powerhouses together,” said Dave Martell, CEO of CUDO and co-creator of Duncan’s Flying Tugboat . “Their combined talents will create a musical identity for our show that resonates with audiences of all ages.”

“Standout theme songs are uncommon these days,” added Will Bryan, Chief Creative Officer. “We remember our favorites from childhood, but today’s animation landscape often neglects their potential. We’re not making that mistake.”

Duncan’s Flying Tugboat follows the adventures of a ragtag crew of ‘eggyboo’ aboard their flying tugboat as they travel the skies helping fellow adventurers, meeting new friends, and having fun and laughs along the way.

Virginia-based CUDO, which was previously known as The SkyFarm Company, bills it as “combining the action-adventure of Paw Patrol with the down-to-earth lovability of Bluey .”

A Roblox game and iOS storybook app are also in development. CUDO says they will debut “soon.”
