    Scott Derrickson & C. Robert Cargill’s Crooked Highway Names Development Team

    EXCLUSIVE: Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill’s production company Crooked Highway has hired Vince Cheng as President of Production and Adriana Fernandez as Director of Development, Deadline has learned.

    Cheng will oversee all aspects of film and TV development and production, while Fernandez will be responsible for guiding all stages of film and TV development and production.

    Previously, Cheng was a producer for PlayStation Productions, adapting PlayStation’s 1st Party video games into films and television shows.  Highlights include the award-winning series The Last of Us, Twisted Metal series, Uncharted and Gran Turismo. Prior to that, he was a development executive at Millennium Media, where he was working on blockbuster action films such as Expendables 3, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, London Has Fallen, Rambo: Last Blood and the Hellboy reboot.

    Fernandez previously worked as film exec at J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions. During her tenure, she worked on a large development slate including the feature adaptation of the popular Japanese anime film Your Name, the latest installment of the Cloverfield franchise and DC’s Zatanna. Her most notable work at Bad Robot includes Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Overlord and The Cloverfield Paradox. Before her role at Bad Robot, Fernandez worked at HBO on several Emmy-nominated films, including Confirmation, All the Way and Bessie. She additionally worked in script development at Focus Features, Heyday Films, Universal Cable Productions, and MGM.

    Additionally, Will Goss is joining the Crooked Highway team as Creative Development Coordinator. A filmmaker and screenwriter based in Los Angeles, he previously spent over a decade working as a film critic and entertainment reporter for such outlets as the Austin Chronicle, Cinematical, The Dissolve, Empire Magazine, Film.com, Film School Rejects, Indiewire, MSN Movies, Orlando Weekly, The Playlist , and Rolling Stone .

    Derrickson and Cargill are currently in a first look deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment to produce feature films for Screen Gems under their Crooked Highway banner. The duo are currently working on Blumhouse’s The Black Phone 2 for 2025.
