Liam Payne was remembered on Saturday evening during this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees’ ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio.

The former One Direction turned solo performer died on Wednesday after he fell from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

While an investigation continues into the events leading up to his death, The Daily Mail newspaper reports that Payne was included in the memorial segment of the evening ceremony at Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

An image of Payne, capturing him during his days with One Direction, was projected onto a huge screen, prompting huge cheers from the audience.

Payne sang in the boyband between 2010 and 2016 along Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik. All four have paid personal tribute to Payne in the last few days, along with their former manager Simon Cowell, and Payne’s former partner, singer Cheryl Tweedy, mother of his seven-year-old son Bear.

Liam’s father Geoff Payne on Friday visited the hotel where his son died , and stopped to look at messages and speak to fans outside.

Hall of Fame music inductees this year included: Mary J. Blige, A Tribe Called Quest, Ozzy Osbourne, Peter Frampton, Foreigner, Dave Matthews Band, the late Jimmy Buffett, MC5, the late Alexis Korner, the late John Mayall and the late Big Mama Thornton. Zendaya inducted Cher.
