Bayonne Firefighters Rescue Workers from Vacant Home
BAYONNE, NJ - Three workers were rescued from inside a vacant home last week, Bayonne Fire Chief Keith Weaver reported. Firefighters faced heavy smoke coming from the attic area of a one and half story home at 5 Pavonia Court when they arrived there at 4:57 p.m. on Thursday after reports of a structure fire. Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a 7-year-old boy who was pulled unresponsive from a swimming pool in Bay Shore yesterday. Third Precinct officers responded to the residence located at 1627 N. Thompson Drive after a 911 caller reported that a boy was pulled from a swimming pool at approximately 8:25 p.m. The victim, Kyrie Berry, of Brooklyn, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead.
