In honor of Veterans Day, the US National Park Service is offering free admission to all its locations on Saturday, Nov. 11. This is the last day in 2023 that free admission is available to any National Park locations.

That means in Cobb County, there are no parking or admission fees at Kennesaw Mountain or any of the Chattahochee National Recreation Area locations. The same applies to any of Georgia's 11 National Park locations, including Chickamauga & Chattanooga battlefields, Cumberland Island national seashore, Georgia's historic coastal Fort Frederica and Fort Pulaski, the Jimmy Carter and Martin Luther King, Jr. national historic parks and others.

National Park locations in Cobb County are among some of the top-visited park locations in the US. Kennesaw Mountain is the top-visited national battlefield park in the nation, and ranks in the top 25 in total visits across all US NPS locations.

In Georgia, the National Park services most recently reported 6,532,801 visitors to its national park locations, generating $514,000,000 in total economic benefit from National Park Tourism.
