DEARBORN (WWJ) -- A woman is dead after a crash in Dearborn on Friday morning.

Dearborn police say the 33-year-old woman was in a Ford F-150 that was hit by an SUV just before 8 a.m. along Michigan Avenue near Outer Drive.

According to authorities, the driver of the SUV was traveling eastbound on Michigan Avenue at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at a red light at Nowlin Street, causing the crash.

The driver of the SUV -- a 26-year-old woman from Taylor -- was taken to the hospital, where she is currently in critical condition.

Police remain at the scene, which is closed as the investigation continues.
