Krispy Kreme on Bardstown Road damaged by arson undergoing partial demolition
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Krispy Kreme on Bardstown Road, which has been closed since an arson fire damaged the building last May, is set to be at least partially demolished. Florida-based Larson Design Group requested a building permit for "exploratory demo work" due to fire damage, according to a building permit filed with Louisville Metro Planning & Design Services.
State will seek the death penalty for Brown-Graves
At his pretrial conference on July 11, Dailin Marquez Brown-Graves found out that he will be facing the death penalty when his case goes to trial in November. Brown-Graves, 23, of Lebanon, is charged with murder, first-degree forced entry-residence, first-degree robbery-residence-gun, and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. He was arrested on May 12 by the Kentucky State Police and charged with the Feb. 13, 2023 murder of Kaitlyn Marie Wise, who was found shot to death inside a residence on Harrison Street.
The City of Madisonville Hosts First Ever ‘Illuminated’ Hot Air Balloon Show
Fun news from Madisonville, Kentucky. At the end of next month, the city will host, for the first time ever, a hot air balloon show called Madisonville Illuminated. The event is reminiscent of a balloon festival that used to be held at the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden in Owensboro. For years, as part of the annual Dazzling Daylily Festival, the Botanical Garden also showcased hot air balloons with Balloons Over the Garden. There were many on display and floating above the property. They even offered tethered rides above the gardens, but also rides that launched from the grounds and flew across parts of Owensboro.
