Rec Authority holds DIY herb garden class for seniors

The Bainbridge-Decatur County Recreation Authority has been hosting various social events and programs for local seniors over the past few months, as part of their Senior Program, which they have been facilitating since earlier this year. With Monday being National Herb and Spice Day, the program welcomed Teresa Adkins and Lillian Norton with the Decatur County UGA Extension Office, who not only quizzed the attendees over basic facts about herbs and spices, but challenged them to identify several samples of herbs by sight and smell alone.

The Senior Program also offers a variety of activities for seniors to participate in, ranging from a day of nothing but cards and games, to bingo. For more information, visit the Recreation Authority’s Facebook page, or contact them at 229-248-2010.
