DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — People who see emergency vehicles at Richland Community College on Friday shouldn’t be alarmed, the college said.

It will be part of a planned emergency response drill. The college will be hosting a radiological response demonstration for the Illinois Emergency Management Agency for the Office of Homeland Security (IEMA-OHS). The scenario: an emergency at a nuclear power station.

The drill will include law enforcement and personnel from both fire departments and the Macon County Emergency Management Agency. It will start at 9:30 a.m. in the area outside Bistro Five Thirty Seven, a portion of the parking lot, the Shilling Community Education Center Auditorium, Green Room and Salons.

There will be no students on campus, as Richland Community College is closed on Fridays during the summer.
