DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — Decatur Public Schools announced that their phone lines will be temporarily unavailable this week due to upgrades.

They say the interruption is part of planned enhancements to their communication network and technology service capabilities. It should last from Monday through Friday.

In the meantime, the school district has established a temporary phone number that can be contacted at 217-855-4521. Staff will also be available to respond to emails during business hours, which district officials say is the most efficient means of communication.

Online registration for the upcoming school year will open Monday as phone lines close down, though school district officials say no interruptions are expected with Skyward. For in-person help, families can visit their student’s school starting July 8.
