H-E-B Sets Opening Date For Second Frisco Store
H-E-B recently announced Frisco’s second store is set to open at 6 a.m. on Aug. 7, 2024, marking the 15th location in North Texas. The first Frisco location at 4800 Main Street opened in September 2022. The store, which will be located at HWY 380 and FM 423 at 899 University Drive, will serve residents in Collin County and eastern Denton County. Denton County proposes $418M budget with slight dip in tax rate, contingency funds for jail overtime
Denton County commissioners were presented with a proposed $418 million budget for the 2025 fiscal year during Tuesday morning’s meeting. The proposed budget will fund public safety but may not include overtime costs. It also budgets for opening the county’s new district court, and it has a proposed tax rate that is a fraction of a cent lower than the current rate.

DENTON, Texas — A City of Denton Jail employee has been arrested for official oppression following an investigation into misconduct involving an inmate. On July 17, 2024, an adult female victim reported that civilian jailer Miguel Mederos, 22, offered her a ride to her vehicle after she was released from the City of Denton Jail on January 2, 2023. The victim told detectives that Mederos made several sexual statements toward her during the car ride and later made sexual advances via text message that night.

It didn’t take long for new Tarrant Appraisal District board members to make their mark on how the district handles property appraisals.
