Denton County commissioners were presented with a proposed $418 million budget for the 2025 fiscal year during Tuesday morning’s meeting. The proposed budget will fund public safety but may not include overtime costs. DENTON, Texas — A City of Denton Jail employee has been arrested for official oppression following an investigation into misconduct involving an inmate. On July 17, 2024, an adult female victim reported that civilian jailer Miguel Mederos, 22, offered her a ride to her vehicle after she was released from the City of Denton Jail on January 2, 2023.
