When Will ‘The Instigators’ Be Streaming on Apple TV+? How to Watch the New Matt Damon Movie

Matt Damon’s new movie The Instigators finds him teaming up with Affleck, but not that Affleck. This new heist comedy stars Ben Affleck’s younger brother, Casey Affleck, as a thief who teams up with Damon for an epic, Boston-based heist. (That said, though Ben Affleck is not in the movie, he did produce it with Damon via their production company Artists Equity.)

The Instigators will be streaming on Apple TV+ this weekend, after a week-long run in theaters. Directed by Doug Lian (who also directed another streaming action flick this year, Road House ), with a script by Casey Affleck and Chuck Maclean, The Instigators starts Damon and Affleck as the only survivors of a heist gone wrong. The two Bostonians are forced to go on the run together, and overcome their personality differences.

If you don’t want to go to the movie theater, good news: The Instigators will begin streaming on Apple TV+ on Friday, August 9—exactly one week after the movie opens in theaters. You’ll need an Apple TV+ subscription or a login from a friend to watch the movie on Apple. A subscription to Apple TV+ is $4.99/month. There are also a few Apple TV+ free trial options you can try if you haven’t used them already.

New titles tend to drop on Apple TV+ at 3 a.m. Eastern Time, or 12 a.m. Pacific Time on the morning of release. So depending on what time zone you’re in, you’ll either be able to watch The Instigators very early Friday morning on August 9, or very late Thursday night. Enjoy the wicked action!
