The first official trailer for Hulu ‘s new series Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is finally here, and it looks just as explosive and revelatory as we’d hoped.

The trailer takes off right with the first scene, with #MomTok influencers Mikayla Mathews and Taylor Frankie Paul candidly addressing the pressure they face as Mormon women.

“I love the Mormon church, but there are a lot of rules that we have to follow,” Matthews says in the trailer.

Paul, on the other hand, is a lot more frank in her description of the church: “We were raised to be these housewives for the men, serving their every desire… I’m like, ‘Fuck this!'”

The new Hulu reality series will offer a closer look at their lives as wives and parents, but many viewers will be tuning in for one thing and one thing only: More dirt on the alleged “soft swinging” scandal that these #MomTok influencers were embroiled in back in 2022.

The scandal swept international headlines after Paul revealed that she and her husband, Tate Paul, were divorcing because she had crossed the line by going “all the way” with another husband in their group of friends.

The trailer features a TikTok Paul shared addressing the situation. “No one was innocent. Everyone was involved with everyone,” she says.

In another scene, one of the influencers appears to be dishing on the situation to her co-stars. “It was like swapping in front of each other, standing next to each other,” she says.

The trailer also shockingly features police body-cam footage of Paul being arrested. The footage is likely from 2023, when she was arrested and charged with assault, criminal mischief and commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child.

According to Hulu’s official logline, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives will uncover the “scandalous world of a group of Mormon mom influencers implodes when they get caught in the midst of a swinging sex scandal that makes international headlines.” The scandal “shook” their friend group “to its core,” but “Will #MomTok be able to survive and continue to give the rulebook a run for its money, or will this group fall from grace?”

The series will also star popular TikTok influencers Demi Engemann, Jennifer Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Mayci Neeley, Whitney Leavitt, Layla Wessel and Mikayla Mathews.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives will premiere Sept. 6 with all six episodes on Hulu.
