Jenna Bush Hager Pauses ‘Today’ Broadcast After Finding Out She Wasn’t Invited To Hoda Kotb’s BBQ: “When Did You Have A Barbecue?”

Jenna Bush Hager had a hilarious reaction to finding out that she wasn’t invited to a barbecue her Today co-host Hoda Kotb threw this summer.

At the top of the show, Bush Hager had asked Kotb if she was partaking in the “year of the dinner party” as some outlets have been referring to 2024.

“I don’t think, except I have had a barbecue at my house. I don’t think I’ve actually had a dinner party,” she said, before adding amid Bush Hager’s confused silence, “I don’t have a big table, I only have five seats at my table. I only have a round table.”

Bush Hager did not respond, prompting Kotb to add, “Don’t look at me with those sad eyes.”

Bush Hager replied, “Well, I just, when did you have a barbecue? None of us [were invited.]”

The Today host, who appeared quite wounded at the news, then turned to the camera crew and began questioning them about whether or not they were invited to Kotb’s barbecue.

“Hey Talia, were you invited to her barbecue? No? Hey Gavin, were you invited to the barbecue? Yeah Sean, what about you? No?” she asked the broadcast crew as Kotb laughed.

Maybe their invitations got lost in the mail!

Of course, Bush Hager is not afraid to throw some jealous shade when it comes to her friendship with Kotb. She has taken shots at Kotb’s other daytime television co-host, Savannah Guthrie .

Earlier this year, when Kotb graced the cover of First for Women , Bush Hager noted that she couldn’t find her name “anywhere” in Kotb’s interview.

Kotb tried to make her feel better by saying she’s mentioned “deeper in the article,” until Bush Hager jokingly pointed out, “Well, I don’t see Savannah’s name either, so I’m just fine.”
