According to The Hollywood Reporter , the Emmy-winning actor is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the voice of the robotic villain Ultron in the yet-to-be-titled Vision series at Disney+ .

Star Trek: Picard showrunner Terry Matalas is helming the new series due in 2026. It is planning to begin production in England in early 2025.

Ultron is a sentient being created by Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, to act as a defense program but that instead turned against humanity. Ultron then created his Vision. There’s more to the evolution of the character but that’s the basic gist.

Ultron was seemingly destroyed at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron , so it will be interesting to see how the show reintroduces him.

The new series, which has unofficially been dubbed Vision Quest , is meant to be the third part of a trilogy that began with WandaVision and continues in Agatha All Along , which debuts in September on Disney+.

Spader is perhaps most known for his role as Red Reddington in The Blacklist for 10 seasons from 2013 to 2023. He had previously starred on Boston Legal and had memorable roles on shows like The Office and The Practice .
