The show’s official synopsis reads: “When a birthday party takes a tragic turn, its ripples shatter a close-knit community — tearing families, friendships and hearts apart.”

Although the story may feel very real, it is not based on a true story and was developed as a work of fiction by Padrón. An article published by Tudum on August 22, 2024, clarifies that the drama series is neither based on a book nor inspired by real-life events.

The Accident is directed by Klych López and Gracia Querejeta and edited by Juan Carlos Arroyo. Cinematography is led by David F. Mayo.
