The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 is almost here. Amazon’s lavish J.R.R. Tolkien adaptation is set to return to Prime Video this week, bringing fans back to the world of Middle-earth’s Second Age. The would-be King of the Southlands, Halbrand ( Charlie Vickers ), has been exposed as Sauron, Galadriel ( Morfydd Clark ) is convinced that the three rings of power crafted for Elves are totally fine for use, and sweet, brave Harfoot Nori ( Markella Kavanagh ) is wandering around Rhûn with her friend, the Stranger ( Daniel Weyman ). What strange, stunning new places will The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power take us next?

More importantly, when exactly is The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 coming out on Prime Video?

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is Amazon’s epic fantasy series set an Age before the events of the original The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The series, created by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, shows us how exactly the treacherous Sauron managed to trick the denizens of Middle-earth into taking his rings of power.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 essentially picks up where Season 1 left off, that is, after an extended flashback showing us how Sauron wound up in his Halbrand form on a raft in the middle of the sea. When we rejoin the main action, the show’s vast cast is reeling from the events that led up to the creation of Mount Doom, Mordor, and the first three rings of power.

‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Season 2 is a Love Letter to the Quirky, Campy Corners of Tolkien

So how does Sauron convince the great elf smith Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards) to forge the rest of the rings? Who exactly is the Stranger? How does Rory Kinnear’s Tom Bombadil factor into the action? We’ll have to wait to tune into The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 to find out!
