Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings is allegedly — and hopefully — here to stay.

A new report from Closer Weekly citing inside sources claims that Jennings will do whatever it takes to maintain his role, saying that “he’s desperate to make it work and has no intention of leaving of his own accord.”

“Ken’s well aware of the noise and tittle-tattle, and privately he would acknowledge these are tough times — especially with Colin Jost coming on to host Pop Culture Jeopardy! and fans calling him awkward, which is hard to take,” they added.

Jost was announced as the host of the upcoming Jeopardy! spin-off earlier this month, which will ultimately stream on Prime Video.

Nonetheless, a source teased that Jennings is “insisting there’s a share of blame here.”

“He doesn’t write the lines or pick the questions and contestants, and won’t be made a scapegoat!” they said.

A source claimed that Jennings “won’t take this treatment” and is “calling on bosses to be more supportive and warning people not to trip him up.”

“Ken doesn’t understand why viewers think this is all his fault, because it’s not,” they said. “He believes others need to take responsibility. He’s done playing Mr. Nice Guy!”

The show’s devoted fan base has previously called out Jennings for “bizarre” rulings and a “cringe-worthy” assisted living joke , as noted by the New York Post . However, Jennings has also received praise, including from former Jeopardy! champ Amy Schneider , who told TV Insider last fall that she “loved Ken as a host.”

Fans were left in a frenzy in July when the Republican National Convention caused Jeopardy! to air hours later than scheduled. Also in July, the game show’s official X account shared a post congratulating “Jennings and the entire production team” on receiving Emmy nods for Outstanding Game Show and Outstanding Game Show Host.
