Hoda Kotb Threatens To Share A Story On ‘Today’ That Could “Cause A Problem At Home” For Jenna Bush Hager: “Want Me To Bring It Up?”

It’s no secret that Jenna Bush Hager loves to dare her Today co-host Hoda Kotb to do a number of ridiculous things, but Kotb revealed during a recent broadcast that Bush Hager can’t resist a good dare herself.

The co-hosts were discussing Tiffany Haddish ‘s shocking decision to walk the New York Fashion Week runway on a dare from Kathy Hilton when Bush Hager announced, “I think I need to hang out with Tiffany Haddish.”

She told Kotb, “I dare you to do a lot of things, a lot of times. I double dog dare you to do things, triple dog dare you, and you still don’t do it.”

According to Kotb, Bush Hager’s dares usually entail her asking their celebrity guests “weird things” about themselves. “‘What if you ask them that?’ And you know I’m not gonna ask them that,” she said with a laugh.

Kotb added that she refuses to do a dare that she believes could be “harmful,” which Bush Hager replied, “It’s not harmful! You’re not gonna harm yourself.”

But the conversation appeared to remind Kotb about one troublesome dare she gave to Bush Hager that she later came to “regret.”

“Well, how about if I give you a dare? Because the problem with you is you always do it, and then you regret it. Remember?” she teased as she leaned in towards Bush Hager.

Bush Hager appeared to be having trouble remembering this supposed dare as she questioned her co-host, even as Kotb replied, “Every time you’re on the verge of saying something that you know you shouldn’t have and I’m like, ‘Just go ahead.’ And then you do and you go, ‘Why did I do that?'”

But that clue also didn’t jog any memories for Bush Hager, who denied that she’s ever expressed regret over saying something.

“You want me to bring it up and then cause a problem again at home?” Kotb replied as she and Bush Hager laughed. “I’m not gonna cause a problem at home. I’m not gonna do it.”

Unfortunately, the Today co-hosts then threw it to commercial without revealing what Kotb meant by her statement. But Kotb could have been alluding to the time Bush Hager made a joke on the air about cheating on her husband , which she immediately walked back and expressed regret over.

The hilarious (but awkward) moment occurred last October when the co-hosts were discussing how “hot” it is to see a man reading in public.

The conversation started off on a strong note when Bush Hager said she’s “dehydrated when a man takes out a book.”

“I mean, if they’re reading something I respect, that could be grounds for an affair,” she told Kotb. She then promptly turned to the camera and clarified, “I’m just kidding, I would never do that. I would never. Henry and I are very happy. And he reads.”

When Kotb asked her co-host why she was becoming “defensive,” Bush Hager admitted, “Because I shouldn’t have said that, I went too far.”

The co-hosts never discussed the awkward moment again on the show, but Bush Hager has hinted that she’s gotten into trouble for some of the things she says on the air. She recently complained after she was forced to name her husband’s “most annoying habit” during a segment on Today .

“He’s going to be mad at me,” she said.
