Kelly Ripa Exposes Mark Consuelos For Once Taking Their Son On A “Dad And Kid Playdate” To Hooters On ‘Live’: “They Came In Reaking Of Cigarette Smoke”

Kelly Ripa hilariously rehashed an unorthodox “dad and kid playdate” that Mark Consuelos once took their son on.

After Consuelos speculated that this will be a “tough year for football in New York” on Tuesday’s Live with Kelly and Mark ,” Ripa reminded her husband and co-host of the Philadelphia Eagles’ win.

“Right, Ash?” Ripa asked Live crew member and fellow Eagles fan Ashley Lewis.

As a self-proclaimed Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, Consuelos asked Lewis if the Eagles and Bucs are scheduled for a matchup, and if she would be interested in betting once again on their respective teams. Last season, Ripa and Lewis were forced to eat Cuban sandwiches on the air after Consuelos’ Buccaneers bested the Eagles.

“If I win, I’m going to get you some of Tampa’s finest cuisine: Hooters chicken wings,” he said. “And if you win, I’ll eat a Philly cheesesteak… it’s a win-win.”

While Consuelos reminded Ripa that Hooter’s was first established in the “Tampa Clearwater area,” Ripa eventually reminded her husband of another Hooters-related memory.

“I remember when you took our son to Hooters,” she revealed. “He was having a playdate with his friend.”

As Consuelos attempted to avoid delving further into the story, Ripa insisted that she was “not kidding.”

“The two dads took the sons to Hooters,” she continued. “They came in reaking of cigarette smoke. I was like, ‘Did you guys sit in the smoking section?’ They were like, ‘The whole place is the smoking section.'”

Consuelos clarified that they had gone on a “dad and kid playdate.”

“You know, sometimes, when your kid’s friends with a kid, the parents are like, ‘Alright, fine, I gotta hang out with the parent, as well,'” he explained. “It wasn’t like my go-to hangout. It was solidified by the fact that he said, ‘We’re going to take the kids out to eat chicken wings.’ I said, ‘Sure.’ And he was driving, and then we pulled into Hooters.”

After Live EP Michael Gelman teased that Consuelos was “blaming the other dad,” Ripa quipped, “Blame the other dad without the talk show.”
