The drama is only heating up for the stars of Hulu ‘s latest masterpiece The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives . Whitney Leavitt attempted to clear her name as the reality show’s villain by throwing her best friend Mayci Neely under the bus, which left Neely feeling understandably “irritated.”

The #MomTok group became increasingly annoyed with Leavitt throughout the series as they accused her of victimizing herself in conflicts she started with the other women. While Neely was the only one who stood by her side, Leavitt still opted to skip her brand’s launch party in the series finale — and according to Neely’s claims in the show, Leavitt didn’t even send a text the day of her event.

In a desperate attempt to prove her innocence, Leavitt took to TikTok this week to expose a text chain between herself and Neely where she explained why she wouldn’t be able to come to the launch party. In the message sent on March 1, Leavitt said she was going to take some “space” from the group as she wasn’t “processing things healthy,” noting that she didn’t want to see any of the other ladies. In a separate text sent on March 8, she apologized again for letting Neely down.

“I was obviously really irritated that she did that because it’s a trust thing,” Neely told DECIDER not long after Leavitt posted the screenshots. “There’s nothing bad said in those messages. But those are private messages that are between us and if you were going to share that, you probably should ask my permission first.”

According to star Mikayla Matthews , who inserted herself in the internet drama, Neely’s event was on March 5 — and while Leavitt texted Neely days before the launch party and days after it, she did not send a supportive message on the actual day it took place, thus confirming Neely’s initial accusation.

“It almost seemed like she was doing that to try to call me a liar,” Neely speculated. “But again, it proved my point that she didn’t text on the night of my event.”

As for where the two women stand now, Neely was not sure.

“I reached out to her the night of the premiere and I said, ‘I hope you’re doing okay.’ Because I already started to see her getting heat and I knew she had already watched probably the whole show. She didn’t respond,” Neely said. “So, I mean, I don’t know. I thought we were good, but I guess not. I don’t know.”
