Jenna Bush Hager Reveals She Accidentally Sent A Photo Of Herself And Dylan Dreyer To “A Young Lifeguard” Named Dylan: “I Need To Be A Little More Careful”

Jenna Bush Hager had a startling realization just before she came out to host Today With Hoda & Jenna Monday (Sept. 30).

At the top of the morning broadcast, Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb told their viewers, “Some of the conversations that happen right before we come onto the show are so hilarious.”

Bush Hager explained that she thought she texted a photo from the Today Show Christmas party to Dylan Dreyer , but she just realized before going on air that she may have sent it to “the young lifeguard” who used to babysit her son.

“I texted Dylan, I thought, a photo of the two of us from the Christmas party that was funny and cute,” she explained. “I was wondering why her response was, ‘I hope you’re okay, you look great I hope you’re okay.’ And it turns out I think I sent it to a different Dylan.”

Kotb added, “You were like, ‘Did you get it?’ And [Dreyer] goes, ‘You didn’t text me.'” She then tried to comfort her co-host, adding, “That happens, that happens.”

“I was wondering why she wasn’t like, ‘Fun times!'” Bush Hager said. When Kotb asked who this other Dylan was, she awkwardly explained, “Dylan was Hal’s babysitter. He is a lifeguard. He’s a young lifeguard who I just sent that picture to. So it looks like I’ll have to go back…”

Kotb laughed. “You’re sending you partying to a lifeguard?” she asked.

The awkwardness of the situation was not lost on Bush Hager as she continued, “I’m not sure what he thought of Hal’s mother in that moment but turns out I need to be a little more careful when I’m texting.”

She added that she’s going to “confirm” during the next commercial break. Unfortunately, she did not offer an update to the Today viewers when the show later returned from commercial.

But Today viewers have heard quite a bit about this rumored Christmas party. After last year’s holiday party, Kotb called Bush Hager out on the show for being the “ringleader” and ordering more drinks when they were ready to get the check, a claim which Bush Hager denied.

“I am going to get back at those people who blamed it on me because I don’t appreciate it,” she told Kotb. “By the way, we were still home by 7 p.m.”

Savannah Guthrie later revealed she lost a tooth at that party after “a lot of day drinking.”

“Anyway, we all left. The next thing I know, the morning I wake up, I’m like, ‘I feel like something’s missing,’” she remembered. “It was like a molar. I was like, ‘Where is it?’ And they were like, ‘Maybe it’s at the Pebble Bar.’ It was gone.”
