Netflix is releasing two standout original films in the first half of the month, with seasonal comedy horror film It’s What’s Inside in early October, plus mid-October’s Anna Kendrick-led crime Woman of the Hour , which are both poised to potentially land in the Netflix Top 10 .
Additionally, in the latter part of the month, Netflix will debut some thought-provoking original documentaries detailing true stories from people around the world like Sweet Bobby: My Catfish Nightmare and The Remarkable Life of Ibelin .

Based on a true story and featuring Anna Kendrick in her directorial debut, Woman of the Hour follows aspiring actress Cheryl Bradshaw (Kendrick) as she appears on a 1978 episode of The Dating Game where her chosen guy, Rodney Alcala (Daniel Zovatto), turns out to be a serial killer in the middle of a murder spree.
Don’t Move is a Netflix Original horror-thriller where a grieving woman’s (Kelsey Asbille) retreat to recuperate in an isolated wilderness soon becomes a desperate race for survival after a lethal stranger injects her with a paralytic agent. In order to survive, she must fight for her life before her nervous system completely shuts down, leaving her easy prey for the seasoned killer hunting her.
CTRL is a Hindi-language thriller that revolves around a beloved online influencer couple, Nella Awasthi (Ananya Panday) and Joe Mascarenhas (Vihaan Samat), whose happy bubble is suddenly burst by the discovery that Joe cheated on Nella. Determined to make him pay, Nella turns to an AI app to completely erase Joe from her existence only to lose control of her own life in the process.
For something more sweet than scary this October, check out this Netflix Original romantic drama about novelist Katherine Loewe (Laura Dern) and an unforeseen connection she sparks with a younger man (Liam Hemsworth) at a picturesque writers retreat in Morocco. As both retreat to this remote location to find themselves, they just may find something life-altering in each other along the way.
Decades after Erik and Lyle Menendez’s 1996 conviction for one of the most infamous crimes of the late 20th century, the brothers speak out and revisit their trial for the first time in 30 years. Convicted of shooting their parents to death in their Beverly Hills home in 1989, the Menendez brothers shocked the entire country with the subsequent trials.
This follow-up to 2019 Spanish dystopian thriller The Platform is a satirical sci-fi film that returns viewers to “The Platform,” a large, tower-like prison. A mysterious leader’s new brutal system for the prison ensures that there are only two occupants per floor who only get food via a free-floating platform on a daily schedule. But a new prisoner shakes things up by rallying against this new method of food distribution.

Based on 2022 animated heist comedy movie The Bad Guys , this Halloween special centers on the titlar Bad Guys crew as they set forth on a risky Halloween heist to steal an amulet from a haunted mansion. But when the theft causes the homeowner’s ghost to hunt down Mr. Wolf (Michael Godere), the gang finds that they may be in store for more of a trick than a treat.
This shocking and gripping documentary recounts the story of London woman Kirat Assi, whose steadily building online relationship with a man called Bobby ends in shock and heartbreak when she discovers his true identity. This is the story of a woman whose heart was broken by someone surprisingly close to her and how she has since picked up the pieces to move on.
The Remarkable Life of Ibelin is a Netflix Original documentary that recounts the inspiring and moving secret life of Norwegian gamer, Mats Steen, who suffered from a degenerative disease called Duchenne muscular dystrophy, which eventually led to his death in 2014 at the age of 25. But before he passed, Mats managed to touch the lives of more people than his family had ever imagined thanks to his years building digital community through the online multiplayer game World of Warcraft. This film gives Mats the opportunity to be remembered by the world as his online friends always saw him: charismatic, soulful, and beloved.
