Karen Huger Shades Ashley Darby’s Relationship With Alcohol On ‘WWHL’: “The Way She Sucks Down The Coronas”

Karen Huger is opening up about her DUI. Following the Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9 premiere on Sunday night (Oct. 6), the reality star admitted on Watch What Happens Live that it was “painful” to listen to her co-stars’ remarks about the incident.

Back in March, the Grande Dame was charged with one count of driving under the influence and hit with six other traffic violations following her car accident, according to TMZ . At the time, Huger said she was driving home from dinner when she saw a car heading right for her, prompting her to swerve and hit a tree.

The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9 premiere documented the aftermath of her accident, beginning with a reenactment of the ordeal.

“It took me back to that time and it’s still ongoing and it just was so painful to watch it because I lived through it and it was very eerily close to it except for the deer. No deer,” Huger said on WWHL, referring to the deer used in the reenactment.

Huger confirmed that it “absolutely” hurt to hear some of the things her co-stars said about her DUI in the episode — specifically Ashley Darby .

“I care for these women and all I wanted them to do was be patient and wait because it’s an ongoing case,” she said. “But Ashley saying what she said — let’s be clear, Ashley needs to be concerned about her relationship with alcohol, the way she sucks down the Coronas, I’m just saying.”

While Huger wasn’t able to say too much about her case, she did promise to tell her full story as soon as she was able to.

“I’m hoping to win when it all comes out but I have to respect the law,” she said. “But when I can speak about it, I plan to be open and transparent, as I always have been.”
