‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’ Star Daisy Kelliher Says ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Alum Detox’s Charter Got “Half The Crew Almost Fired”
Below Deck Sailing Yacht returns to Bravo tonight for Season 5, and we can’t wait! While Colin Macrae will not be onboard Parsifal III for the charter season, plenty of exciting new yachties will be joining Captain Glenn Shephard , Daisy Kelliher and Gary King to shake things up. One yachtie who is sure to have fans talking is Chef Cloyce Martin . He is remarkable, but not only because of his incredible skills in the galley. Fans will be buzzing about the fact that he’s only 22 years old!

Even though Martin is very young, he’s got plenty of experience in the kitchen. He got his start as a kid doing cooking competitions and entered into a culinary program in high school. Eventually, he went to France to study cooking at just 15 years old. After cooking at a Michelin star restaurant in NYC and starting his own catering company, Martin quickly pivoted to being a yacht chef which lead him to the Parsifal.

In this exclusive clip, Martin and Kelliher are getting to know each other in the galley. “This will be my third full season,” Martin tells Kelliher about his previous yachting experience. “Are you happy presenting your food?” asks Kelliher tentatively. After Martin nods in affirmation, he changes the subject. “If we can avoid taking specific orders,” pleads Martin, not wanting to complicate his service with á la carte items. “Yes, that’s usually very normal,” replies Kelliher, warning him that they sometimes get “last-minute” requests.
“How old are you?” asks Kelliher. “22 years old,” answers Martin immediately. “Oh, okay,” says Daisy, a bit taken aback. In his confessional, Martin explains he wasn’t surprised by her reaction. “When people find out that I am 22 years old…,” begins Martin. “Do I think that freaks them a bit? Yeah!” In Kelliher’s confessional, she proves his point by exclaiming: “Oh my God, he’s 22!”
“My age is 100% unrelated to my capabilities,” insists Martin back in his interview. While that may be, Kelliher expresses more of her concern to the camera. “You know, it’s young. It’s not a lot of experience; it’s not a lot of life experience,” says Kelliher aghast.
Still, the two are determined to start off the season on the right foot. Back in the galley, Martin tells Kelliher: “If you need anything from me, I’m always here. If you guys are behind, and I’m not, let me know and I’ll fold some towels.” A bit charmed by his willingness to help, Kelliher laughs and tells Martin: “You’re confident.” For everyone’s sake, let’s hope age is just a number!
