“Do you ever have dreams that your teeth are falling out?” she asked, honing in on an audience member who had experienced the phenomenon before. “You do? Yes, I’ve had that dream, too!”
While Consuelos said he has never had that type of dream, Ripa explained that she’s dreamt that she’s “bitten down and then all of [her] teeth are broken. As for what this means, she read that “teeth represent our ability to communicate.”
“They also symbolize anxiety,” she continued. “If you dream that your teeth are falling out, you may be feeling unbalanced or self-sabotaging.”
Ripa proceeded to ask the audience member if that “feel[s] like her,” which she seemingly confirmed.
“Oh my gosh, we have to get Dr. Gail Saltz here to talk to this lady in the front row,” Ripa said, referring to the psychiatrist and psychoanalyst. “Do you dream that your teeth are falling out one by one?”
“The message is to pay attention to what is consequential to things happening in your life,” she added. “If you dream that your teeth fall out all at once, it’s a signal to pay attention to what feels catastrophic in your life. Without your teeth, you can’t say what you need to say.”
Ripa, who felt that she’s “a combination of several of these things,” clarified to Consuelos that “it’s been years” since she’s had this dream. As she parsed through different ways that people have experienced this dream, she eventually read that “if you dream you’re in braces… you’re negotiating something that’s about to change.”
“Is that true?” she asked the audience member.
The woman replied, “Yes, we’re moving!”
As Ripa placed her pointer finger on her temple, Consuelos quipped, “You’re like the Long Island Medium .”
Ripa teased, “I’m the New Jersey medium!”
