‘Outer Banks’ Cast Reveals What They Want To See Next: “Pogues Go To Space”

From alligator attacks to evil gun-wielding older brothers, the Pogues have been through a lot more than your average teenager over the four-season run of Outer Banks . Season 4, Part 1 is no different, with the crew narrowly escaping death several times as they go up against new menacing foes on their hunt for Blackbeard’s treasure.

While fans won’t know how the story ends until the second part of the season comes out on Netflix in November, the cast revealed to DECIDER where they’d like to see the show go from here. Would they like to see the Pogues score another win? Or do they want the Blackbeard mystery to continue for seasons to come? Here’s what they said:

“I think it’s kind of a two-hander,” Chase Stokes , who plays main protagonist John B told us over a Zoom interview ahead of the Season 4 premiere. “You know, part of me really wants to see the Pogues just settle down.”

He continued, “I think one of the beautiful things about the show is the backdrop of the Outer Banks is kind of a character in itself. And I think our audience really enjoys that. And I know that we love filming in that space.”

Noting that he trusts the writers, Stokes admitted that he “personally would love to see them kind of chill out for a little bit” — even though the show is “embedded in a treasure hunt.”

Drew Starkey , who plays main antagonist Rafe Cameron, cheekily suggested, “Pogues go to space,” while Stokes jokingly riffed, “Pogues buy a mega-yacht.”

Starkey, in all seriousness, agreed that he’d like to see his often wound-up character “hang out a little bit more instead of totally losing my mind.” Perhaps Rafe could even “give back to the community,” buy “a little house,” or “write a book in the future” — which Stokes referred to as The Great American Novel.

Unlike her co-stars, Madison Bailey , who plays Kiara “Kie” Carrera, would like to see “the chaos continue” in Outer Banks.

“Why not?” she said. “But yeah, I would love to see another Pogue win at the end of this one. I say it like I don’t know what happens but, you know, I’m like, that would be so nice.”

Carlacia Grant , who plays Cleo, initially advocated for the group to go on a “different treasure” hunt next season, but noted that they could also “dig deeper into Blackbeard.”

Jonathan “JD” Daviss , who plays Pope Heyward, added, “I just want to see them continue to move on from wherever this season takes them. Like, if we continue, just to keep exploring the characters and keep exploring how deep some of that stuff can go.”
