Is ‘Rumours’ Streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?

The rumor that Rumours , Cate Blanchett’s new movie, is opening in theaters this weekend is, in fact, more than a rumor: It’s a stone-cold fact.

Written and directed by the filmmaking trio Guy Maddin, Evan Johnson, and Galen Johnson, Rumours is a dark comedy about world leaders who gather for the G7 to craft a statement on an unspecified global crisis, but get lost in the woods instead. Blanchett stars as the fictional Chancellor of Germany, Alicia Vikander plays the fictional Secretary-General of the European Commission, Charles Dance plays the U.S. president, Roy Dupuis plays the Canadian prime minister, Denis Ménochet plays the French president, Nikki Amuka-Bird plays the U.K. prime minister, Rolando Ravello plays the Italian prime minister, and Takehiro Hira plays the Japanese prime minister.

You will be able to purchase Rumours on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream Rumours on Prime Video free with a Prime subscription, because it is not a Prime original movie.
