Vintage wood 'baseball players' come to life with Billings Scarlets' run to World Series
BILLINGS — Tucked away in his garage for approximately 40 years, Bill Jones kept his treasured “baseball players” for safe keeping. The approximately 5-foot tall “baseball players” are actually wooden cutouts resembling the Billings American Legion baseball Scarlets and Royals. A quarter-inch in thickness, the “baseball players” as Jones calls them, are of players — one in red stripes resembling the Scarlets, and the other in blue stripes resembling the Royals.

Motorcyclist Disappears Aug 11 On Ride From Idaho To Montana
A search is underway for a man who was last seen in northern Idaho preparing for a motorcycle ride to Montana. Family and friends are asking for help with locating him. Zachary DeMoss, 24, was last seen in Kooskia, Idaho, which is 85 miles southeast of Moscow. He was traveling with a group of bikers when he vanished, according to a story published on the Idaho Missing Persons Alerts Facebook page. MSU Extension to Hold Community Development Meeting for Rural Leaders
BOZEMAN — Rural volunteer leaders from communities across Montana are invited to participate in a community development gathering set for Sept. 17-18 in Miles City. The event, called “The Road Show,” will bring experts in rural resources to facilitate connections and knowledge sharing with Montana’s small-town leaders. It also features speakers from rural communities who will share successes, opportunities and resources available from regional and state agencies and nonprofits. The Reimagining Rural program, an initiative from Montana State University Extension, and the Montana Department of Commerce’s Montana Main Street Program are co-hosting the event.
