Cinema Arts Centre debuts Political Film Festival
Films can take us far from our lives, even as they can also bring us closer to truths about our world. From July 9 to 12, the Cinema Arts Centre, 423 Park Ave., Huntington is presenting a four-day festival that highlights the intersection between politics and Hollywood. The screenings, which cost $16 for nonmembers and $10 for members, will include the films Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, The Best Man, and The Candidate.

Walgreens Closing Select New York Stores
The big-name pharmacy has released a list of stores that are expected to close as the company finalizes a plan to fix its struggling business. Earlier this month we told you that Walgreens CEO Tim Wentworth announced that the company would be closing hundreds of its more than 8,600 drugstores over the next three years. Wentworth explained that "changes are imminent" for about 25% of the company’s underperforming stores, which could affect roughly 2,100 stores across the country.
A giant “pool” just opened at the Rink at Rockefeller Center

Gary Barnett’s Extell Development is changing up the financing at its quick-selling luxury condo building on the Upper West Side. Jerusalem Venture Partners, the project’s mezzanine lender which goes by JVP, has taken on the project’s senior debt, replacing Bank OZK by refinancing $620 million in construction loans and issuing $70 million in new debt, a representative of Extell confirmed.
