The petting zoo comes to Baldwin
Baldwin Public Library hosted a petting zoo event in collaboration with the Steppin Out Petting Zoo on July 19th that drew crowds of enthusiastic children and families. The library grounds buzzed with excitement as attendees interacted with a variety of animals, such as rabbits, goats, and chickens. Laughter filled the air as children petted the animals and learned about their habitats and behaviors, creating an enjoyable and educational experience. Neighbors are invited to attend Franklin Square-based nonprofit Rescuing Families’ second annual luau bingo party on Aug. 9 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2718. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and bingo will start at 8 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to don their “luau finest,” to fit the theme of the event. Village awards Grogan with State Senate Veteran Award
Steve Grogan, PIO and publicity chairman for the American Legion Post 335, received the State Senate Veteran Award on Monday. Grogan is a Vietnam-era veteran, who served on active duty for five years as a special agent with US Army Intelligence. He is now an active member of Lynbrook American Legion Post 335.
