    Deerfield softball wraps up week's worth of action with a victory over Fall River, sweep of Williams Bay

    On Friday, May 3, the Deerfield softball team cruised to a 17-0 win over Fall River at Fall River High School.

    Junior Cora Nelson hit a home run, recording four RBIs and scoring two runs in the win.

    Sophomore Rowan Lasack, junior Lydia Mack, senior Chloe Moore, sophomore Riley Fisher and freshman Mia Haberkorn all drove in two runs each. Junior Addison Klein and sophomore Lily Betthauser each recorded an RBI.

    In the circle, Klein pitched two innings in the win, recording four strikeouts. Freshman Sydney Kind pitched an inning of relief, recording two strikeouts.

    Deerfield is 11-6 overall and 9-3 in the Trailways-South Conference. The Demons are in third place in the conference standings.

    Horicon 7, Deerfield 4

    The Demons kept it close with the leaders of the Trailways-South Conference, but fell 7-4 to Horicon on Thursday, May 2 at Deerfield High School.

    For the Demons, sophomore Rowan Lasack recorded four RBIs, going 2x3 with a double. Sophomore Lydia Mack also added two hits.

    In the circle, junior Addison Klein pitched a complete game, giving up seven runs (six earned) in the loss. Klein recorded one strikeout.

    For Horicon, Cyri Reinwald hit a home run and Lizzy Gibbs recorded three RBIs. In the circle, Gibbs recorded three strikeouts in a complete game. Horicon leads Johnson Creek by half-a-game in the conference title race.

    Deerfield 11, Williams Bay 1

    In the second game of a doubleheader against Williams Bay, the Deerfield softball team earned an 11-1 win on Tuesday, April 30 at Deerfield High School.

    Sophomore Rowan Lasack led the Demons, going 3x4 with two RBIs, three runs scored and three stolen bases.

    Junior Lydia Mack added two RBIs, while sophomore Riley Fisher, sophomore Lily Betthauser and junior Cora Nelson all drove in a run.

    In the circle, junior Addison Klein pitched five innings with seven strikeouts. At the plate, Klein drove in three runs.

    Deerfield 15, Williams Bay 0

    Junior Cora Nelson knocked in five runs in a 15-0 win over Williams Bay in the first game of a doubleheader at Deerfield High School on Tuesday, April 30.

    Nelson went 2x4 at the plate with a home run and a double. Nelson also scored three runs and stole a base.

    Junior Addison Klein drove in three runs, hitting two doubles and scoring a run. In the circle, Klein pitched four innings, allowing one hit and recording six strikeouts.

    Sophomore Rowan Lasack and sophomore Riley Fisher also drove in a run at the plate. Junior Rylee Betthauser and freshman Mia Haberkorn both scored three runs.

    Horicon 4, Deerfield 0

    In a pitcher’s duel on Monday, April 29, Lizzy Gibbs and Horicon got the better of Deerfield junior Addison Klein and the Demons in a 4-0 win at Horicon High School.

    Gibbs limited the Demons to just six hits, pitching a complete game shutout. Gibbs, along with Madison Boeck and Ella Vorlob, also recorded an RBI at the plate.

    For Deerfield, Klein pitched a complete game, giving up four runs (three earned) and recording six strikeouts.

    At the plate, Klein hit two doubles, while junior Saige LaChance also recorded two hits, going 2x3 with a double. Juniors Lydia Mack and Rylee Betthauser also recorded a hit.
