Donald (Don) G. Quick of Milford, Pa., passed away suddenly in Milford on Friday, July 12, 2024. Don was born in New York, NY, on June 5, 1950, to the late William and Ethel (Antles) Quick. He attended the University of Maine and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in philosophy with a minor in business administration. He worked for the Boy Scouts of America in New Bedford, Maine, before moving to New York City to serve as facilities manager for First Presbyterian Church in 1974.

Joseph C. Wassmer, 65 of Lords Valley, Pa., passed away very unexpectedly in the still early morning hours of July 15, 2024. He was a faithful husband and loving protector of his wife and children. As a loving father, and a simple man he only wanted the love of his close family circle. Though not perfect, he formed the habit of saying “If it’s God’s will” in every situation. His favorite hobby besides spending close family time, was playing guitar/singing and retelling stories of the “good” old days. His staunch devotion to the Rosary, his firm guidance, strong emotional support and sarcastic humor was the actual heartbeat of the Wassmer household.
10,000th blood donation expected Saturday
New Jersey Blood Services (NJBS) will host a blood drive from 7:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, July 20 at the Saint Kateri Parish, 427 Stanhope Ave., Sparta. The drive will celebrate the parish’s 10,000th blood donation since it began hosting blood drives with NJBS more than two decades ago.
