    Defiance County grand jury

    A Defiance County grand jury has returned indictments against 23 persons, according to Prosecutor Morris Murray’s office.

    Indicted were:

    • Lee Mathys, 78, 1609 E. Second St., for aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a third-degree felony.

    • Jeffery Rodesiler, 43, Hicksville, for tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; and aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony.

    • Matthew Costanzo, 37, Bryan, for failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony. Authorities allege that he failed to appear for a hearing in Defiance County Common Pleas Court on March 4 after having been released on a personal-recognizance bond.

    • Heather Martinez, 49, 827 S. Jefferson Ave., for menacing by stalking, a fourth-degree felony and OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor. Authorities allege that from Feb. 20- March 1 she engaged in a pattern of conduct that caused another person to believe she would do harm to that person or their family. She also allegedly trespassed on the land or premises where the victim works and/or lives, and operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs on March 1 on U.S. 127 in Ney.

    • Dalton Talbott, 27, Paulding, for three counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, each a fourth-degree felony; and five counts of importuning, each a fifth-degree felony. Authorities allege that on March 2 he possessed obscene materials showing a minor as one of its participants. The indictment also charges that from Feb. 23-March 2 he sent messages to an undercover police officer posing as a 14-year-old female online, solicited the individual to engage in sexual activity and arranged to meet the person in Defiance.

    • Austin Castillo, 29, 420 Hopkins St.; and Justin Maldonado, 30, 758 Jackson Ave., each for possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony.

    • Brittney Castillo, 34, Toledo, for non-support of dependents, a fifth-degree felony.

    • Gage Gilbert, 21, Stryker, for aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony; improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, each a fifth-degree felony; and OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor. Authorities allege that on Feb. 24 on Defiance County’s Elliott Road he knowingly transported, or possessed, a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle while he was operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, and the firearm was accessible to him without leaving the vehicle.

    • Robert Gessner, 32, Napoleon, for improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a fifth-degree felony. Authorities allege that on Nov. 17 on Defiance’s Fifth Street he knowingly transported, or possessed, a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle while he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and the firearm was accessible to him without leaving the vehicle.

    • Michael Green, 43, Edgerton, for aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony.

    • Brittany Houck, 32, 1983 Jefferson Ave., for aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony.

    • Steven Kroeckel, 46, 319 Hopkins St., for aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony.

    • Tristan Liechty, 28, Emmett, Idaho, for theft, a fifth-degree felony. Authorities allege that on March 4 he stole a license plate belonging to another person.

    • Kalub Luzar, 38, Toledo, for unauthorized use of a vehicle, a fifth-degree felony. Authorities allege that on Feb. 16 he operated a motor vehicle without the consent of the owner and kept possession of the vehicle for more than 48 hours.

    • Karissa Mann, 31, 911 Sunday St., for possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony.

    • Bradley Moser, 19, Bryan, for improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a fifth-degree felony; and OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor. Authorities allege that on Feb. 14 he knowingly transported, or possessed, a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle while he was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, and the firearm was accessible to him without leaving the vehicle.

    • Kenneth Reed, 63, 1138 Riverside Ave., for aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony.

    • Shane Seibold, 52, 2002 Baltimore St., for aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony.

    • Joe Suarez, 41, Wauseon, for aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony.

    • Melissa Thomas, 32, 827 Washington Ave., for two counts of aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), each a fifth-degree felony.

    • Joaquin Tovar III, 45, 1102 Riverside Ave., for possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony.

    • Nicole Wade, 39, 1609 E. Second St., for two counts of permitting drug abuse, one a fifth-degree felony; the other a first-degree misdemeanor.
