Winners of three of their last four games, the DeForest boys’ basketball team appears to have righted the ship.

After falling to Beaver Dam in a Badger Large Conference tilt at home on Monday, Feb. 12, the Norskies bounced back with a tight 66-61 league win on the road at Oregon.

A balanced scoring effort keyed DeForest’s victory, as Hunter King led the way with 13 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the field. Lincoln Hottmann added 10 points, four assists and two steals, while Anthony Glenn had seven points, eight boards, two assists and three steals.

Nick Hermansen chipped in with nine points and three assists. Ben Bodden also had nine points, hitting 3-for-4 shots from the field.

In the Beaver Dam loss, Hottmann finished with 20 points, going 8-for-17 from the floor, while finishing with two rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Dominic Wood added 13 points and three rebounds. For Beaver Dam, JT Kaul had 23 points and EJ Salettel finished with 18.

DeForest (11-12 overall, 4-9 in the Badger Large) will wrap up the regular season on Thursday, when the Norskies host Monona Grove.

The No. 4 seed Norskies received a first-round bye for the WIAA Division 2 playoffs. They will face the winner of Milwaukee Lutheran and Wauwatosa East at home on Friday, March 1.
