Boys swimming: DeForest downs Fort Atkinson to go to 2-0
The DeForest boys’ swim team downed Fort Atkinson on Tuesday, Dec. 12, winning by a score of 101-64 in a dual meet. Individual double winners for the Norskies, now 2-0, include Jakson Wagner, who took first in the 200 freestyle (1:58.64) and won the 100 backstroke (1:05.44), and Carter O’Leary, who topped the field in the 200 individual medley (2:07.03) and the 100 butterfly (58.13). Wyatt Parker also placed first in the 500 freestyle (6:03.88). The Norskies also won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:39.77, with Wagner, O’Leary, Shawn Colbrooke and Erik Wiencierz teaming up for the victory, while DeForest also finished first in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:56.96. O’Leary, Parker, Kirby Colbrooke and Wiencierz comprised the winning crew in the 400 freestyle relay. DeForest also won the junior varsity event by a score of 35-15.

Dane County Sheriff's Office Northeast Precinct to expand
After renting out a portion of the Windsor Municipal Building since 1993, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office has finalized its purchase of the entire campus. The sale nets the Village of Windsor roughly $1.8 million. The agreement also allows the village to lease out a portion of space until September 2025. Oregon scored early and often in an 11-1 blowout win over the South Central Navigators on Tuesday, Dec. 5. Playing at home, the Panthers erupted for six goals in the first period and kept pouring it on, as they outshot the Navigators 57-14. Theodore Leoffelholz scored South Central’s lone goal in the second period, with Avery O’Dea assisting. Andrew Jicha lit up the Navigators for five goals and two assists,, while Easton Lindert had a goal and three assists for Oregon and Issac Rottier and Owen Tauschek had three points apiece — Rottier scoring two goals and doling out an assist. In net, Mason Bieri saved 46 of 57 shots for South Central, now 1-5 overall and in Badger Large Conference play.

Women's basketball: DeForest's Grundahl named WIAC Player of the Week
Aleah Grundahl, senior (DeForest, Wis./DeForest), a forward for UW-Whitewater, was named a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Kwik Trip Athlete of the Week for women's basketball. Grundahl continued her hot scoring streak with 27 points in a 74-63 win over No. 12-ranked University of Chicago (Ill.) on Dec. 2. She shot 10-of-22 from the field, making one three-pointer in the contest. Grundahl also pulled down nine rebounds (five offensive) and recorded two steals and two blocked shots. Earlier in the week, she recorded 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals in a 79-33 victory over Concordia University (Wis.) on Nov. 29.
