    DeForest to host electronic recycling drive

    DeForest residents will have the opportunity to recycle an electronic waste they may be holding onto for free with the village on Saturday, March 23.

    The e-waste drive will take place from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the DeForest Yard Waste site at 610 N. Stevenson St. The village is asking those who wish to participate to have proof of residency at-the-ready upon arrival. This can be in the form of one’s yard waste permit or a photo ID.

    Examples of items that can be recycled are:

    TVs, Computers, Electronics — Consumer electronic (VCR’s, stereos, DVD players, cell phones, etc…)Office Equipment (Copiers, Fax Machines, Phones, etc.)Cables, Wire, Connectors and AdaptersPower Strips and Surge ProtectorsDesktop PC TowersNetwork ServersNetwork Equipment: Routers, Hubs, Switches, Modems, etc.LaptopsVacuum Cleaners

    Non-acceptable items include household appliances (refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, etc.), treadmills and other electronic exercise equipment.
