    Boys tennis: Doubles sweep leads Norskies past Oregon

    Sweeping all three doubles matches, the DeForest boys’ tennis team recently edged Oregon 4-3.

    Ethan Piontek and Max Hein dispatched Oregon’s Braeden Bakken and Ben Schuetz 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, while William Sachtjen and Collin Murray rolled over Mitchell Remy and Alex Stauffacher 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles and Oliver Anderson and Riley Trost defeated Jack Trunzo and William Ress 6-4, 6-2.

    The singles group had a tough night, but Christopher Sorenson disposed of Gavin Magee 6-4, 6-2 to give DeForest its only singles win. Jonathan Wells pushed Oregon’s Jerry Zheng at No. 2 singles, before falling 6-2, 4-6, 10-2.
