DECATUR, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A DeKalb County woman convicted of child abuse that led to the death of her young son has learned her fate. On Friday, a DeKalb County Superior Court judge sentenced Malisha Sasfras, of Decatur, to life plus 20 years in confinement in connection to her son’s death, according to the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A 63-year-old woman was injured in a shooting overnight in DeKalb County. Police officers responded to a home on Bedevere Circle, which is off of Glenwood Road in Decatur. They say that the woman and the suspected shooter were in an argument moments before the shooting.

DECATUR, Ga. — A Decatur woman has been sentenced to life plus 20 years in prison after being convicted of child abuse that led to the death of her 4-year-old son. According to a press release from the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office, a jury convicted Malisha Sasfras, 26, for felony murder, three counts of cruelty to children in the first degree and two counts of aggravated battery. The charges related to the Feb. 2023 death of her son.
