CANTON, OH (WTVO/WQRF) — The head coaches in the Mid-American Conference in football have a good vibe about the Northern Illinois University Huskies this year. The Huskies have been picked by the coaches to finish in third place in the conference.

The coaches are gathered in Canton this week for the 2024 MAC Football Kickoff at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Keep in mind, the MAC is no longer divided into East and West Divisions, so the Huskies have been picked to finish third out of all the teams. They’re actually tied for third with Bowling Green behind defending MAC Champion Miam, OH and behind Toledo.

NIU compiled a 7-6 record last season. The Huskies finished strong winning six of their final eight games, and they won the Camellia Bowl against Arkansas State.
