One of central Ohio’s top boys basketball players is leaving the area to play at an out-of-state academy this winter.

Kruz McClure, a 6-foot-6 combo guard from Westerville South, announced Thursday that he will play his senior season at DME Academy, an independent college preparatory school in Delafield, Wisconsin.

McClure shared his decision on social media and confirmed the move to The Dispatch.

“I’ve decided to transfer so I can start getting physically ready to make an impact at the next level,” McClure said. “DME has some great plans to get me mentally and physically ready for college.”

McClure holds almost 20 Division I offers.
