9 indicted in multi-state drug operation that includes Minnesota
FARGO, N.D. — Nine people have been indicted in North Dakota for their alleged involvement in a multi-state drug operation run from a federal prison cell. Prosecutors say beginning in January 2022, the distribution network moved significant quantities of methamphetamine, heroin and fentanyl from Mexico into North Dakota, Minnesota, California, Colorado, Georgia, Missouri, Texas, Arizona and elsewhere. The operation was allegedly run by 26-year-old Jesus Amurahaby Celestin-Ortega, also known as Flaco, using a contraband cell phone while he was incarcerated in federal prison on unrelated drug and firearm charges.
Southern Minnesota to Adopt 10-Digit Dialing
Residents and businesses in the 507 area code, which includes cities like Rochester, Faribault, Owatonna, Mankato, and Winona, will need to switch to 10-digit dialing starting July 30th. This change is necessary because the 507 area code is projected to run out of numbers by early 2025, prompting the addition of a new 924 area code.

(St. Paul, MN) -- The last three months will go down in the state weather record books for highest average rainfall in Minnesota. Pete Boulay with the State Climatology Office says this April through June was the wettest on record with a preliminary total of around 17 inches of precipitation. Boulay says the previous record was 15.22 inches in April, May and June of 2014. Finland on the North Shore received 17-and-a-half inches of rain over the past three months. He says last year at this time the drought was ramping up in Minnesota.
