Former Wilmington Council President Blunt dies at 80
WILMINGTON — Ted Blunt, the venerated Wilmington city council president and father of Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, died on Jan. 11. He was 80. Blunt died at his home Thursday night, surrounded by his family. His passing was announced by Blunt Rochester the following day, and a cause of death was not disclosed in an obituary. Gov. Avelo to restart some suspended routes in May
NEW CASTLE – Avelo Airlines announced last week that two of its suspended routes from Wilmington Airport (ILG) would restart in early May. Delaware drops bachelor’s degree requirement for 350 state jobs
WILMINGTON — Select state government offices will no longer require bachelor’s degrees for 350 positions, per a policy change rolled out by Gov. John Carney on Jan. 10. The Carney administration announced Wednesday that the state has dropped the degree requirement for roles in the Department of Services for Children, Youth and their Families (DSCYF) and the Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS), encompassing six Family Service classifications.
