On the first day of the Democratic National Convention, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was talking to Pennsylvania delegates about recent campaign-trail visits to the Keystone State when he mentioned visiting a popular convenience store chain.

But, did he choose wisely?

Is Tim Walz a Sheetz fan?

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz waded into some hot water Monday night when he appeared to choose sides in Pennsylvania’s most hotly contested debates on Monday morning : Wawa or Sheetz.

During a Democratic National Convention breakfast with Pennsylvania delegates, Walz mentioned visiting Sheetz while campaigning Sunday. That drew some lighthearted boos from Wawa loyalists.

Sheetz and Wawa are both based in Pennsylvania and have stores in several states. Wawa has more than 1,000 stores; Sheetz is over 600.

Walz made a quick exit from the debate, saying, “here’s my thing – Kwik Trip. In the Midwest it’s Kwik Trip.”

Kwik Trip has roughy 800 stores in states like Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois.
